My Twenty-Thirteen

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 16,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Who’s In Charge Project: Chapter 8- Anarchy

I think It’s probably about time I told you that I’m home-educated, if you didn’t know before :-) That means that I don’t go to school, and that I’m home-tutored by my mum! At home, we get to do lots more art and creative writing. We get to illustrate our projects, and sometimes, we’ve made them into lapbooks, in my opinion one of the best possible ways to set out a project! I also get to chose what I want to learn. I am very interested in how the government works, and so I did this project on it: Who’s In Charge. Here is chapter 8- Anarchy! (my favourite :D ) Enjoy!

What is Anarchy?

Anarchy means ‘without rule’ and is where there is no-one in charge. Everyone can do whatever they want and there are no rules at all. This may sound great on paper – however, there is one major difference between anarchy and the other forms of government; that is that anarchy has never actually been successful!

Why Anarchies Arise

Anarchy can arise when the government is weak and collapses or is overthrown. An example of this was in Spain in the 1930s during the civil war. The government was weak and was overthrown. Local Communists unities took charge and organized things without help or permission from the government. Large parts of Spain were run by anarchic groups and this helped people get on with normal lives during the war.

Who’s In Charge Lapbook: 7- Democracy

Direct Democracies

Democracy means ‘rule by the people’ and is where every legal citizen is allowed to vote. Democracy started in Ancient Greece. This was direct democracy, where lots of free men went to the crowded market place and made speeches, telling the people their views and ideas. Other free men could vote for these ideas.

Representative Democracies

Most Modern Democracies are Representative Democracies. In this type of democracy people vote for people to represent their view, rather than voting on ideas.

Separation of Power

Executives come up with ideas and laws. The Legislates vote on these laws. The Judiciaries enforce and uphold these laws, making sure the citizens are treated fairly.

New Superheroes: The Butterflies

The Butterflies are a group of Superheroes that will help Rock when he has to face Scar and his Henchman. The leader of the Butterflies is simply called Butterfly, though I did consider calling her Purple Emperor to match the other members of the gang which are all named after a particular butterfly:

Grey Dagger

Bad Temper, Likes To Defeat Foes / Win, Great Knife Thrower

Claws, Spiky Brown Hair, Bare Chest, Sheath For Large Dagger

Red Admiral

Great Leadership Skills, Rays of Laser From Hand, Sensitive To Sound

Painted Lady

Faint Mind Control Power

Tattooed, Semi-Naked

Great Eyesight and Loyalty, Power to Break Doors and Locks

Hooded, Spear of Typical Palace Guard

Iron Prominent

Can Make Flares, Blasts Fire From Eyes

Iron Armour

Scarlet Tiger

Super Strength, Great Sense of Smell

Black and Orange (Tiger Colours) Suit, Claws

P. S. My next task is to make the villains of The Butterflies. I think they will be called The Spiders. Or maybe something that eats butterflies… What Eats Butterflies?!

Assou-Ekotto- 2

Kompany- 2

Gibbs- 7

Gibbs has done great since I got him. A clean sheet for him this week.

Johnson- 2

Richardson- 1

Michu- 7

Another great score for Michu :D

Yaya Toure- 9

Rodallega- 2

He’s gonna be going soon by the looks of his history- 4, 1, 2.

(C) Van Persie- 30

I told you I’d chosen the right captain :D

Ba-  2

Not so impressive this week for Ba.

Also, this week, I was quite delighted to hear that Andy Carroll has moved to West Ham. Unfortunately, he got injured on his debut. No idea when he’ll be back.

Keldeo Distribution

Starting 1st September, and ending on October 11th, Pokemon Black and White owners can receive a Keldeo through a special distribution by visiting a local Game or Gamestation shop who are participating in the event.

The Keldeo will be Lv.15, and have the moves: Aqua Jet, Leer, Double Kick and BubbleBeam.

If Keldeo is transferred to Pokemon Black and White 2, he will change to Resolute Form and learn Secret Sword. It;’s last learnt moves are Hydro Pump and Close Combat, at Levels 67 and 73, which I would advise you to replace Double Kick and BubbleBeam with. Replace Leer with Swords Dance and Tutor him something like X Scissor or Poison Jab; a move of a different type.

“Half-Birthday” Presents

One year, our aunt forgot our birthday (in February), and our birthday presents arrived around August. We liked the presents and the idea so much that our aunt decided she would send all our presents every year as Half-Birthday presents. So, she would send them halfway between each birthday, which would be August.
And presently, the month is…

A few days ago, we got the presents. We opened one on Saturday:

Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown

Now usually when I get the set, my favorite bit is the mini-figures. But today it might actually have been the helicopter. It’s an awesome vehicle. A moving propeller, and missile launcher. A lovely design with great colour (I love red!)

And I’m so glad to have Wolverine in LEGO, because he’s our fave X Men. What’s yours?

There is like nothing wrong with this set at all!!

And, the next present we opened on Sunday.

Batmobile and The Two-Face Chase

I have loads of Pros:

  • Again, the Vehicles are awesome.
  • I love Batman, and was glad it was the Black Batman suit because that’s my fave suit.
  • Smash Out Windows on Bank.
  • I think the Gun made from 4 pairs of binoculars is great. Now I’ve had the idea, I’ll be able to make more guns in the same style.
  • Notes. It’s handy to have money in banks and superhero/villain plots, and we only had 1 note before.
  • The fire on the back of the Batmobile is very cool and realistic, and shows that the Car can drive at great speed!
  • It’s easy to get the lid of the Batmobile open and closed.
  • Two-Face is one of the coolest Batman villains to have in LEGO, partly because I’ve seen the Dark Knight with him in:

What’s your favorite Villain?

And Two minor cons:

  • The Bank is a bit small, and It’s hard to smash out the windows or play inside without moving out the crate / safe.
  • No Robin. I thought Robin was like always with Batman, always at his side.

I did think about having Batman having to lean back in his car to fit with the lid closed as a con, but it’s realistic and he looks cooler when he leans back.

Thanks to my Aunt, and hope this review helps you fellow-bloggers and LEGO Lovers :D
