Strategy
The Choice:
I have many Lv. 100s, and found it hard to narrow them down to 6 (party no). In my party, I have Donphan hold the zoom lens, which raises accuracy when the user strikes second. I did think about putting my shiny Bisharp Lv.100 in and getting it to hold zoom lens. If I did this, Bisharp’s Guillotine would have increased accuracy- and if Guillotine hits it KOs. This would be a very powerful combination. I could also add my Haxorus instead of Bisharp, because as well as Guillotine, Hax has:
- Dragon Pulse
- Outrage
- Giga Impact
The only real reason I didn’t do this was that I already had a Dragon Type (Reshiram) in my party.
One of my fave Lv.100s I’ve got is Pachirisu. But although I like it very much and you can’t catch them in the Unova Region, it has rubbish stats so I didn’t put it in my party. Another of my faves is Magcargo, but I didn’t put him in my party for the same reason- crap stats.
I have a Seismitoad in my party, but another option would have been my Samurott or my Carracosta. Which one do you think you would have chosen out of these three water kings?
One thing wrong with my party is Sp. Attack and Sp. Defence. My best at them is Reshiram, but I have a Darkrai Lv.100 and a Beheeyem Lv.100 which would both be good at raising my team’s special stats.
One of my fave abilities is Sturdy (what’s your favourite ability)?! My Donphan has Sturdy, but I did wonder whether I should replace him with Gigalith or Carracosta. What do you think?
I have some good Normal Type Lv.100s, including Bouffalant, but I don’t like Normals because they’re not super-effective against anything! I could however, teach them some TMs.
Weakness and Resistance:
In my battle box, I have many different types of Pokémon, and they have different weaknesses and resistances.
Crobat is weak against Electric, Ice and Rock. He has resistance against Grass, Fighting and Bug.
Steelix is weak against Fire, Fighting and Ground. He has resistance against Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dragon, Dark and Steel.
Liepard is weak against Fighting and Bug. He has resistance against Psychic, Ghost and Dark.
Seismitoad is weak against Grass only. He has resistance against Poison, Rock and Steel.
Reshiram is weak against Ground, Psychic, Dragon and Rock. He has resistance against Fire, Grass, Bug, Steel and Electric.
Donphan is weak against Water, Grass and Ice. He has resistance against Electric, Poison and Rock.
(Please correct me if any of these are wrong).
Tips on Weakness and Resistance:
It is best to have as few weaknesses as possible. Seismitoad has just one weakness, and so is a very good choice. Bouffalant has just one too- Fighting. Zebstrika is another good’n- with just Ground weakness. And here is the ultimate one- Eelektross- with none because of his Levitate ability. If your opponent had an Eelektross- you could change that with the Turboblaze ability though (?).
For resistance Steel is a great type. It has a massive 12 resistances. Fire is the runner up with only a 5!
Double Battles:
In my strategy I have also thought about Double Battles. My Crobat and Steelix would make a good combination- Steelix could use Earthquake and not be damaging Crobat. Reshiram and Seismitoad would also be good- Seismitoad could use Surf while Resh disappeared into the sky with fly.
Coming Soon:
I may soon be getting a Zekrom- to level up and replace Liepard. I am also trying to level up a shiny Gyarados, Thunderus and Tornadus. For some reason though, I cannot get Landorus. When I got to the shrine with Tornadus and Thunderus- it does nothing.
P.S: I’ve heard the Black and White 2 games are out soon! Can’t wait!
P.S.S: I’ve also got Pokémon Platinum, which I may try to complete so I can Poke Transfer.
P.S.S.S: Please comment and tell me your Pokemon squad. Thank you!
My Shiny Pokemon:
- Mamoswine
- Mightyena
- Steelix
- Crobat
- Liepard
- Abomasnow
- Staraptor
- Weavile
- Muk
- Bisharp
- Porygon-Z
- Mismagius
- Gyarados
- Walrein
- Regigigas
- Swellow
- Magby (NEW!)
- Snivy (NEW!)
- Pidgeot (NEW!)
A suggestion: If you wanna make the most out of your Steelix’s Rock Head ability, best to include an attack like Double Edge in its move pool. You get a lot of damage in without having to worry about recoil.
Otherwise, I love the team. Crobat is BOSS.
Thanks for the suggestion!
And yeah, Crobat is awesome!
I never put that much thought into my teams. I just use whatever Pokémon I like from that generation.
I don’t play comepetitively, so I guess I don’t need to think about it too much. However, I respect the amount of work competitive players do to create their teams.
I do try to make it so that I don’t repeat types too much on my teams, to allow for wider type coverage, and I still make sure my Pokémon have decent moves that play to their strengths and cover their weaknesses.
So I guess I’m not completely hopeless.
No. That’s basically what I do. Isn’t it just really annoying that the most powerful legendaries can;t enter Wi-fi though! I’d have an unbeatable squad if that rule wasn’t there
Ah, I feel shamed now xD You’ve actually put strategic thought into your team, whereas I thought ‘I like these Pokémon… eh, who cares if they suck.’ I’m afraid I’m not a fan of any ‘mon from after Diamond/Pearl though…
No. They’re far worse. I should really update my Pokemon Page, because I don’t think I’d ever use these guys now, and I haven’t even got my Reshiram! Don’t feel shamed though
Seems like a pretty solid team to me.
I’m still working out some of the kinks with a couple spots, but at least a few members of my team are Scizor, Togekiss, Forretress and Milotic. I’m trying to find ways to overcome having two 4x fire weaknesses, since those two are two of my favorites. It’s a work in progress.
Yes. Sounds like a good squad. I’ve just got a Togekiss recently. Is yours Level 100?
Glad you like my page.
What’s your current Pokémon Game? I’m playing Black.
Me too
My boys love Pokemon too. Diamond and Pearl seems to be the deck of choice in this house. GL with the blog.
Diamond And Pearl. That’s one of my fave card series too!
^ I love yellow version too!!! Only issue there was: Brock. Days were spent training my Pikachu, Pidgy, and Butterfree to beat that Onyx!
I haven’t played yellow (yet). Maybe I’ll try it one day
Been playing Pokemon for years, but I still don’t have a favorite team. It would probably be filled with legendaries–Suikune, Rayquaza, Kyroga, and such. Looking forward to seeing how your blog develops. Thanks for the visit.
Wow, you’ve got lots of legendary pokemon! Have you played all the Pokemon games then?!
I pretty sure I’ve played all the gameboy games, and a few of the console games too. I did give up on the Ranger games. I didn’t care for those very much. My favorite is Pokemon Yellow–Pikachu following you around was just too cute.
I’ve got loads of Legends now- Heatran, Rayquaza, Regirock, Giratina, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf
Oh, but I so wish I had Kyogre or Suicine!!
Oh, you’re a Pokemon fan too? Perhaps we should have a battle some day…
Yeah! That would be cool
I just noticed a little error… when you’re talking about your Steelix, he’s also weak to water because he’s part ground. Because of that, Grass does normal damage because of the steel’s resistance and the ground’s weakness.
Okay! Cheers. So Water Weakness. And no Grass Weakness.
By the way, I just got a Shiny Regigigas!!!!!!!! How cool is that LOL

(I’ll have to edit my Pokemon Page again.)
Thanks a load for your comment Kip
Kim? I’m assuming you mean Kip.
Sorry to be picky; I’m just sort of a nerd.
SHINY REGI? Holy cow! How do you find all these shinies? You said you get them all off the GTS, right? What do you have to give up to get them? O.o
Yeah! Sorry
I have to give up Legendaries and LV.100s. It’s quite a long story! I got a Zorua for a Zekrom once, and I made loads and loads of eggs with a Ditto. Then I swapped all those Eggs for Lv.100s. Then Someone called Caleb swapped me Legendary Pokemon and Shiny Pokemon of those Lv.100s. Now, I basically swap those Legendaries for More Shinies, and Get more Legendaries for the Lv.100s I’ve got left! Get It??!!
Ah, okay. You practically have this marketing Pokes down to a science, don’t you?
Yeah
I just got a Regirock for a Cacnea today!! That’s basically 10 Mins me hatching an egg getting me a Legendary Pokemon
Wow, there are some sweet deals on the GTS… and if you make eggs with the foreign Poke, there’s a better chance of hatching a shiny
By foreign do you mean use Pokemon that are traded or from another region?
Traded from another region. The chance goes down to 1/1,300 something. It’s still slim, but people will hatch that many eggs to get a shiny…
Woah! That’s awesome! I’m gonna hatch away LOL
With Poke Transfer? Or does trading through GTS work?
GTS. And I meant another country, not region. It actually has to be a different language, too.
*Traded from a different language game. It can’t be within the US… so it’d have to be from Japan or Korea or France or something. It might work with Britain, but I’m not positive.
I live in Britain
